Meggan
Bar Manager
Meet Meggan our bar manager. When she joined the Castaways family in 2016 she brought with her over 20 years of service industry experience. Meggan loves shaking up the classic martini but has also found a love for crafting drinks that evoke the spirit of the tropics. Her passion lies, not only in mixology, but creating a warm, fun, family like atmosphere for her patrons and she loves making people laugh. When Meggan’s not at the bar she loves going on adventures and exploring Santa Cruz with her little family.
FUN FACT: Meggan was an award winning roller skater in the 1990’s.
Trixie
Bartender
Meet Trixie, our cherished bartender with over 20 years experience behind the bar. Trixie thrives on the social dynamics of bartending calling each shift “a mini party “ where she is the host. She is a sports enthusiast who loves sharing game days with her regulars. Do not miss her legendary Bloody Mary’s with all the fixins! Trixie is grateful for the amazing friends and memories she has made at Castaways over the last 15 years and is an invaluable member of the team.
FUN FACT: Trixie broke her nose while working as an extra on the movie Bring It On.
Laura
Bartender
Meet Laura, your tequila connoisseur. Laura‘s bartending journey began in the high energy nightclubs of Southern California and Las Vegas, where she honed her craft and had the pleasure of serving celebrities and professional athletes. Laura loves creating flavored margaritas, exploring different levels and combinations of sour, sweet and spicy. What she treasures most about Castaways is it’s welcoming atmosphere, a safe Haven where she knows she can always find a friend or lend helping hand. To her, patrons aren’t just customers they’re family.

Sam
Bartender
Meet Sam, our newest member to the team. Sam has almost a decade of bartending experience, and had the pleasure of training under an experienced mixologist who taught her the ins and outs of the business and techniques of craft cocktail creation. Recently, Sam has developed a deep appreciation for wine and loves sharing her knowledge with patrons. While Sam enjoys experimenting with all spirits, Gin holds a special place in her heart. She delights and its versatility and myriad of flavor profiles. Sam is excited to meet new people that she wouldn’t otherwise meet while working at Castaways.
FUN FACT: Sam is learning to surf.
Anthony
Bartender
Meet Anthony A flare enthusiast, whose journey into the world of bartending began as a bar back at the age of 21, through hard work and dedication he became the innovative bartender he is today. Anthony enjoys working with Mezcal, a spirit that fascinates him with its rich flavors and versatility. You may catch Anthony behind the bar practicing his flair pouring adding a special energy to his shifts. Anthony enjoys the opportunity to connect with new people and hear their stories while working at Castaways.
FUN FACT: Anthony recently adopted a Labrador puppy.
